09 Mar Large Item Waste Rules
Due to the overwhelming amount of complaints that Leland has received from residents about other neighbors’ large-item waste being left out on the curb too long, we would like to remind folks to visit the linked page to become more knowledgeable about the county’s large-item pick-up service.
Here are the neighborhood rules regarding large-item waste:
- All large-item waste pickups MUST be scheduled by calling to the Solid Waste Hotline at 407-836-6601. Under NO circumstances shall residents put large-item waste out on the curb unless pick-up has been pre-arranged with county, as it can take county up to a week to pick them up.
- Large-item waste can be put out by the curb no sooner than the afternoon before the confirmed scheduled pickup day.
- After 3 days, if the large-items have not been picked up by the county, it is the responsibility of the resident to remove said items from the curb or to arrange an alternate way of getting rid of the large item at their own cost.
- Starting on the 5th day, the homeowners shall be charged $25 for every day that the large-item waste is curbside until the 7th day, when the HOA will hire a private company collect the large items at the homeowners’ expense.
Please note that fellow residents should let the HOA Board know of any such infractions as soon as they are noticed. Please go to www.waterfordtrailshoa.com to report any infraction. Reports can be done anonymously, but please keep in mind that you must also submit a follow-up report on the 3rd, 5th and 7th day.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
